Assessment Tools

Prior to starting the coaching process, it’s often helpful to start with diagnostic work, such as Birkman, MBTI, appraisal or 360-degree feedback.

Sophie is certified in the following Assessment tools:

Birkman Method

The Birkman Method® is a scientifically developed, multi-dimensional assessment designed to help you achieve more at work and at home. It integrates behavioral, motivational and occupational data together to predict behavior and work satisfaction across situations. The Birkman Method is the personality assessment for improving people skills and aligning roles and relationships for maximum productivity and success.

Lominger Voices® 360

VOICES® is a 360 degree multi-rater tool used by executive coaches, leadership development practitioners, career development coaches, and talent management professionals to assist clients in improving their leadership effectiveness. The assessment is easily administered through the web and produces multiple reports, depending on customer need. Rater responses are reported on a 7-point scale covering “Towering Strengths” to “Can’t Rate Clearly.” When appropriate, those qualified to administer VOICES® may easily customize the instrument by selecting just those competencies to be rated and the number of reports they wish to use.

DiSC; Leadership Assessment and Leadership Development

DiSC is an assessment tool used to improve work productivity, teamwork and communication. DiSC is non-judgmental and helps people discuss their behavioral differences. This assessment helps an individual understand what leadership methods and styles can be more effective for a given personality type.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

This is probably the most widely-used and well-researched personality tool in the business world. It assesses an individual’s type and is particularly useful in expanding a leader’s self-awareness, improving interpersonal communication, managing conflict, developing teams and coaching others.

Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI)

The TKI is a leading assessment tool for understanding conflict-coping styles that affect interpersonal and group dynamics. It improves organizational productivity by helping people gain insight into their own behaviors and that of others. TKI is based on the premise that respectful discussion is key to conflict resolution. By sharing concerns and receiving non-judgmental feedback, participants learn to make better decisions and take responsibility for their actions.
